You could tell last night on Banner's face things weren't looking good when he was helped off the field and sitting on the bench. Zach worked his tail off in the offseason to get the starting right tackle position just to have it taken away in an instant from a freak injury. Banner took to his Instagram earlier tonight and said he is excited for his recovery process then thanked everyone for supporting him.
"Everything's going to be OK," he said, thanking everyone for supporting him and reaching out. "I'm going to get over this. I'm excited about my recovery process, and I'm going to come back even stronger next season. It's another obstacle that I've got to get over."
NFL Network this morning reported that initial reports from the Steelers team doctor's show Banner tore his ACL. Banner did not mention what happened in the video posted on Instagram, but did state he is going to have season-ending surgery on Friday. Zach Banner is set to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.
