The Steelers need some help all around. However, there are some bigger positions of need around the team. When Malik Hooker came to town and visited the Steelers, I never thought I would be excited about safety depth, although, Hooker might just be what the doctor ordered right now.
I'm fairly confident in our secondary that includes Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds. Without question. These guys are a rock-solid secondary. They equate to some of the better safety duos in the league.
However, if one of them ends up getting injured, I would be greatly worried about our safety depth. The Steelers gravely need another guy behind these guys and I believe Malik Hooker would be a solid depth piece.
The real snag here is his desired price. I think the only thing stopping Malik Hooker from signing with another team is his desired salary. He's definitely a guy that should've been signed by now.
With David DeCastro being released, the Steelers have found themselves with some extra cap room this season. I think this money should either be used to sign Hooker or to sign a guy like Ingram or Houston.
