Kendrick Green is easily one of my favorite picks of the NFL Draft. The Steelers got a player who I think has a chance to start Week 1 and I'm pretty excited for that. He's got some big shoes to fill after Pouncey ended up retiring this season. It looks like he will be up to the challenge though.
Kendrick Green went to college at Illinois and he ended up being drafted to the Steelers in Round 3 at pick 87. Honestly, for a starting-caliber center, I think that's a bargain. I'm confident in the Steelers' selection.
I am also glad that the Steelers brought back B.J. Finney because he provides competition and some much-needed depth at the position. The Steelers need some help at the offensive line position and I think they properly addressed the need in the 2021 NFL Draft.
I think the Steelers could've perhaps spent some earlier picks in the Draft on the Offensive Line, especially in the second round. However, Pat Freiermuth can also block and the TE position was pretty thin after losing McDonald to Retirement.
Kendrick Green has already spoken to Ben Roethlisberger and I couldn't be more excited to see our new Drafted Rookies and Undrafted Rookies take the field for their mini-camp. We got a lot of work to do and it starts soon.
The Steelers will need some big contributions from this Rookie Class. No doubt about it. Especially from those on the Offensive Line and at the Running Back position. It'll be nice to see how Najee Harris looks in the Steelers' uniform.
