After the signing of Kalen Ballage, I don't think so. That would definitely leave the. Steelers with quite a surplus of running backs. I think James Conner could have spent his last season in the Burgh.
However, if the market isn't there, he might opt to sign a cheap deal in Pittsburgh to stay around and then see if he can generate somewhat of a market next season. However, as I said, I think he spent his last season in Pittsburgh.
James will be missed, however, I think it would be best for both parties to split up here and perhaps look at both of their futures to see if they can find better fits elsewhere. I think James could get paid RB2 money for sure. So, it will be interesting to see where he lands.
Personally, I think James will sign somewhere well before the NFL Draft. So, we'll see where that will be and if he gets an opportunity to be the guy once again in this league. When healthy, James Conner can be a wrecking ball. However, when he is not, it's quite evident because his production goes way down or he's not on the field at all.
He can really disappear at times, perhaps that's not all his fault and that might just fall on the Offensive Line instead. So, hopefully, he can go somewhere with a decent O-Line, and maybe he can turn some heads once again. I just don't think that will be in Pittsburgh.
