David DeCastro was released by the Steelers this week, however, is he going to join another team? I‘m not so sure. I just don’t think he has it in him anymore, he seems like last season really took a toll on him.
Still, I feel like DeCastro could get healthy and play again. However, at 31 nearly 32, I don't think it's worth starting all over again with another team. His resumè already speaks for itself. The man has 6 Pro-Bowls under his belt and has been named first-team All-Pro twice. For me, arguably, those are Hall of Fame numbers.
Outlets like Bleacher Report, are predicting the top potential landing spots for him. They have pointed out teams such as the: Bengals, Raiders, Patriots, and Seahawks. I would feel quite disgusted to see that man in another uniform. I just don't see him doing it. I see him leaning toward retirement.
If there is any chance he would come back, I would want that to be in our uniform. However, with him having surgery at this age, I feel like it would be a challenge for him to come back and perform at a high level. Although, if anyone can do it, he can.
Losing David DeCastro and Maurkice Pouncey feels like an end of an era in Pittsburgh. However, sometimes change can be good. I think it's time to have some changes on this offense. Well, now's the time.
