With the recent news of Jerome Bettis wanting the Steelers to trade for Quarterback I thought it would be interesting to explore to see if this would actually be possible and if the Washington Football Team would want to make this trade.
Let’s take a look at the Washington Football Team. They are a complete mess. They are under a microscope with all the allegations against Dan Snyder. They are still technically rebuilding and Dwayne Haskins was drafted in the previous régime.
Dwayne Haskins stats haven’t been that great. However, this was under a terrible team and numerous head coaches. In his short career, he has thrown for 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. So, his career hasn’t started off that good currently.
If I’m the Steelers, do you even bother with using your draft capital to get this guy? I’m not sure. It depends on the cost. If it’s a mid/late round pick, I would say that’s a good value for the player. However, anything earlier is definitely not worth it for a team that’s trying to win now with Ben Roethlisberger.
I don’t think this team needs to throw off their team chemistry. I think Dwayne is a great kid, I just don’t think the Steelers need another player in their QB room as long as Ben Roethlisberger is healthy.
My final, offer for the Washington Football team would be a 4th round pick for next year and a 6th round pick for the year after that. However, that would be it… Nothing too earth-shattering. However, it is somewhat worth their while.
