Maurkice Pouncey has announced his retirement leaving a big hole at the Center position for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They can decide to look toward free agency for a Veteran or a Center in the draft. Right now they have a ton of holes in their team that need attention like the running back, offensive line, and quarterback positions. So it might be wise to find a Veteran Center to hold you off until next year or two to draft a stud from College.
Austin Reiter (29 years old) came from the University of Southern Florida. He was a seventh-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft by the Washington Football team who played two seasons with the Cleveland Browns and eventually ended up as the Center for the Kansas City Chiefs. Reiter has had 33 starts in his NFL career at Center. He started with the Chiefs in both Super Bowls in 2019 and 2020 at the Center position. Austin has a ton of postseason experience. It should be noted Pro Football Focus says the Steelers should target Austin Reiter in the 2021 NFL offseason as he would be the best fit for the Steelers.
David Andrews (28 years old) came from the Georgia Bulldogs. Andrews went undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft but became Tom Brady's Center with the New England Patriots. He has 69 starts in the NFL and missed the 2019 season due to blood clots in his lungs. He was cleared to resume playing football and did so with the New England Patriots. David has tons of postseason experience.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, there are Centers that will be available to the Steelers. Some of those names are Landon Dickerson (Alabama), Creed Humphrey (Oklahoma), Josh Myers (Ohio State), Drake Jackson (Kentucky), and Trey Hill (Georgia).
