Travis Etienne on playing for the Steelers: "I feel like it'd be a perfect fit"

The biggest question going into the offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers will be who the next great running back will take the field in 2021. It looks like the Steelers are parting ways with James Conner after finishing dead last in the running game last season. There are 3 top running backs the Steelers could choose from in the 2021 NFL draft. They're Najee Harris, Javonte Williams, and Travis Etienne.

Mike Tomlin, Matt Canada, and Kevin Colbert recently attended Clemson's pro day. One can only guess who they had eyes on... Travis Etienne. In fact, they watched him run a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash and met with him through a zoom meeting.

Travis Etienne on playing for Matt Canada's offense: "I feel like it'd be a perfect fit. I feel like he would use me in ways to get me into the mismatches, those one-one-ones that I feel comfortable in winning. I feel like it would be great. He's going to get me out there, in a position to make plays."

Etienne said he had a great zoom meeting with both Mike Tomlin and Matt Canada. He thinks his versatility would fit perfectly with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It seems like the Steelers have an interest in both Najee Harris and Travis Etienne. They have met with both of the running backs so far. The Steelers did spend a lot of time with Najee Harris at the Senior Bowl. Who the Pittsburgh Steelers choose at running back will depend on their homework they're currently doing. Not only will the Steelers be drafting who will be available when they pick, but also who they think will have all the tangibles. It should come down to Najee Harris, Travis Etienne, or Javonte Williams.
