With long term anchor in the middle of the line Maurkice Pouncey retiring, the Steelers have a massive hole at the center position. With most of the big name offensive linemen off of the board in free agency, where the Steelers turn to a big man in the middle?
Like I said, free agency isn't over at all. There are still plenty of solid linemen available. But if the Steelers want to really make sure that the center position is reliable enough to try and turn around the running game they either need to pay up or draft a guy in the 1st or 2nd rounds of the NFL Draft.
The lack of depth at the center position is a great concern, and we saw last year just how important a good line is for the running game. This makes me feel strongly that the Steelers should draft a lineman in the 1st round, and a running back like Kenneth Gainwell in the 2nd round.
