It looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers are not done with free agency after all. The organization has been really quiet after the 2021 NFL draft and many in the media were speculating if the Steelers are going to try and sign more free agents... Well, we got our answer this morning from Ian Rapoport. The Steelers brought in former Colts Safety for a visit in Pittsburgh yesterday. It is unclear if he will be signing with his hometown team, but it is a good first step to bring him in for a visit.
The last time we heard from Malik Hooker was last month when he had a visit with the Miami Dolphins. He also met with the Dallas Cowboys too. So it looks like he could be making a decision soon. Throughout his time with the Colts he has had trouble staying healthy and is coming off of an Achilles injury in 2020. Hooker was graded as the No. 14th ranked Safety in the NFL in 2018 and is a first-round product.
In 2020 Malik Hooker only played 2 games with the Colts. Injuries seem to have plagued him throughout his time with the Colts, but he would be a good option to bring in with the Pittsburgh Steelers to add depth at the Safety position. He is considered a starter in the NFL, but he cannot seem to stay healthy with a full workload. It could benefit him if he was used as depth on a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers going forward in order to make sure he can stay healthy longer throughout the season.
