The Pittsburgh Steelers have plans for Zach Banner to be a part of the team in 2021

The Steelers are set to have an unprecedented 2021 offseason with many unrestricted free agents. One of those free agents will be Zach Banner. It looks like their plans with Banner started to take place during his exit interview when the Steelers were eliminated in the Wild-Card round against the Browns. Banner recently sat down with Mark Kaboly of the Athletic and said what Mike Tomlin told him.

Zach Banner: “Coach T looked at me and said, ‘You are my answer for 2021, so I need you to focus on your knee, don’t worry about anything else.’ That was the best thing that I could’ve heard,” Banner told Kaboly.

It was a dream come true to win the starting right tackle job with Pittsburgh at the beginning of the 2020 season, but that dream came crumbling down when he tore his ACL against the New York Giants. Banner was set to play a major role on the Steelers offensive line and looks to still be in the Steeler's plans moving forward.

It does look like he could be in a battle during training camp to win the starting left tackle or right tackle job with the Steelers pending who they decide to draft in 2021. It also sounds like Banner will return and be a significant part of the offensive line for the foreseeable future in Pittsburgh according to Mark Kaboly. Only time will tell if Banner can become an integral part of the Steelers. He will just need to stay healthy going forward and his play will do all of the talking.
