The Pittsburgh Steelers do not want to Cut Joe Haden

The Steelers will be walking into an unusual free agency in 5 days. With having over 15+ free agents set to possibly walk the Steelers have begun their offseason early. The organization is now cap compliant and has saved $30 million dollars in cap. Maurkice Pouncey and Vance McDonald have retired. Ben Roethlisberger has restructured his contract to a one-year deal and the Steelers have signed multiple players. Don't expect it to slow down anytime soon because the Steelers have many holes to fill this offseason.

Gerry Dulac wrote an article this morning talking about the salary cap with tough decisions looming. A move the Steelers have yet to address is Joe Haden. He is the next biggest cap hit on the Steelers besides Ben Roethlisberger. Dulac says the Steelers have two options with Haden. Either cut him or sign him to a new deal similar to Ben Roethlisberger. He also says the Steelers do not want to cut him. So that means we could see a new contract on the horizon for Joe Haden soon. The problem is Haden is 32 years old and you do not want to create a bigger contract that will hurt the organization down the road. I'm sure the Steelers will figure this out just like they did with Ben Roethlisberger because Joe Haden is a major part of the Steeler's defense.

Joe Haden called his shot on Twitter saying he predicts the Steelers will not cut him. He has been right. It also doesn't make much sense for the Steelers to cut their best CB on the team. Look for the Steelers to address Haden soon. In Colbert we trust.
