Updated: Mar 4, 2021

The offseason most Pittsburgh Steeler fans knew was coming is almost here. March 17th the Steelers will begin their dreadful offseason. One good domino fell today with Ben Roethlisberger restructuring his contract which let the Steelers save $15 million in cap space, but that is not enough to overcome the number of free agents the Steelers have heading into 2021.

ESPN's John Clayton recently appeared on 93.7 the fan and said this offseason will be a blood bath. ESPN's Dianna Russini backed up those claims as she has talked with an NFL head coach about the upcoming cuts and what he expects... He feels it will be a massacre all around the league.

This could end up being a heartbreaking offseason for the Steelers in particular who are trying to get their cap under management for the future so they can sign players like TJ Watt, Devin Bush, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. So the Steelers will have to get this season right in regards to money. There could be some big names who could be cut by the Steelers.

Here are some contracts the Steelers could offload in 2021.

Derek Watt - $1.75 million, dead mone - $2.166 million, savings if cut $1.66 million.

Not only could there be cuts, but the Steelers could lose Bud Dupree, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Matt Feiler, Alejandro Villanueva, Mike Hilton, Cam Sutton, James Conner, Chris Wormley, Zach Banner, Tyson Alualu, Avery Williamson, and many others. It could be a heartbreaking offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers fans and many don't realize how bad this offseason can get in regards to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
