On the FOX pregame show today, former Steelers quarterback and Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw ripped Aaron Rodgers over his controversial viewpoints on the COVID-19 vaccination and called him a liar for telling the media in August that he was "immunized."
Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week and is out for today's Packers-Chiefs game. Rodgers was on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Friday and explained why he chose to not get vaccinated. Rodgers' reasoning didn't sit well with a lot of people, as they thought he came off as ignorant.
Rodgers said that he presented 500 pages of research on the efficacy of immunizations, all the latest research surrounding his case, and the latest research that he was getting from his medical team. Rodgers said he even reached out to famous podcaster Joe Rogan, who is anti-vax and has taken Ivermectin to combat COVID-19, which is a commonly used horse dewormer.
Rodgers also said he disagreed with wearing a mask when talking with the media even though he's not vaccinated because the reporters are vaccinated, wearing masks and socially distanced.
Rodgers even quoted Martin Luther King, which came off as tone-deaf. MLK was fighting for equal rights and social justice. Rodgers is upset with league protocols during a global pandemic.
Bradshaw, who's always been a straight shooter, wasn't having it with Rodgers.
"I'll give Aaron Rodgers some advice, it would have been nice if had just come to the Naval Academy and learned how to be honest," Bradshaw said on the FOX pregame show, which was at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. "Learned not to lie because that's what you did, Aaron. You lied to everyone. I understand immunized, but what you were doing was taking stuff that would keep you from getting COVID-19. You got COVID-19. Ivermectin is a cattle dewormer. Sorry, folks, that’s what it is.
"We are a divided nation politically. We are a divided nation on COVID-19, whether or not to take the vaccine, and unfortunately, we got players that pretty much think only about themselves, and I’m extremely disappointed in the actions of Aaron Rodgers."
This isn't the first time that Bradshaw has buried Rodgers. Bradshaw criticized Rodgers this offseason and called him "weak" for his long saga of whether he would return to Green Bay.
Bradshaw isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's been critical of Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin in the past, infamously calling Tomlin a "Cheerleader." Bradshaw was raved all day on Twitter for his strong words on Rodgers, however.
