Wisconsin natives T.J. Watt and Derek Watt will play their first game against the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Growing up in Wisconsin, the Packers are loved by everyone, and it was no different for the Watt family in Pewaukee.

When speaking with the media today, T.J. said he went to a few games at Lambeau Field with friends growing up. Watt also said he remembers watching the Packers on TV with his family, including his brothers and his late grandfather.

And with being a young kid in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Watt's favorite Packer was Brett Favre.

“I think I was Brett Favre four or five times for Halloween,” Watt said with a smile. “That’s kind of how it was in our family. Once Rodgers was kind of hitting his stride, I was more of a Houston Texans fan, obviously, because of J.J.”

T.J. played at Lambeau Field in 2016 when he was at Wisconsin, a game in which the Badgers beat LSU, 16-14, but the environment on Sunday will be completely different with all the cheeseheads in the stands. The other non-Watt Wisconsin native and Badger on the team is inside linebacker Joe Schobert, who. played against the Packers at Lambeau Field last year with the Jaguars, but there were no fans in the stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m going to have a lot of family and friends in town for the game,” T.J. said, “so it’s going to be a very special moment.”
