T.J. Watt gets snubbed in Madden NFL 22 ratings

T.J. Watt got snubbed for NFL Defensive Player of the Year last season, as the Associated Press nominated Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald for the award instead, and now Watt has been snubbed by EA Sports' Madden NFL 22.

Madden NFL 22 on Twitter yesterday posted their top 10 edge rushers in the game, and Watt ranked third at 94 overall, behind Khalil Mack (96 overall) and Myles Garret (98 overall). Watt also somehow has the same overall rating as Chandler Jones and his brother J.J. Watt.

In 15 games last year, Watt led the league in sacks (15), tackles for a loss (23) and quarterback hits (41). In comparison, Mack had nine sacks, 11 tackles for a loss and 12 quarterback hits, and Garrett had 12 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss and 18 quarterback hits. So, I'm not sure what EA Sports was looking at when rating this year's players for Madden NFL 2022, because Watt clearly should be rated as the No. 1 edge rusher in the game, if they based it off Watt's real life stats.
