Stephen A. Smith defends Ben Roethlisberger and says he is NOT the Worst QB in the AFC North

Zackary Napolitano

Ben Roethlisberger will return back to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021. He recently renegotiated a new one-year contract for $14 million dollars. Finally, we can put this Ben Roethlisberger contract past us and move onto free agency.

ESPN's First Take recently took on the Debate about which AFC North quarterback is the worst? Max Kellerman says he believes Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Baker Mayfield are all clearly better QBs than Big Ben. That set Stephen A. Smith off. Smith says that is the most asinine thing he has ever heard Max Kellerman say.

Stephen A. continued to question Max by says is Ben really worse than Baker Mayfield? Worse than Joe Burrow? Joe is still a puppy in this business (NFL). He also said Burrow couldn't even get past 10 games in his first season without getting hurt. Big Ben completed 65% of his passes and Baker Mayfield completed 62%. Big Ben has thrown 33 touchdowns and Baker Mayfield has thrown 26.

The biggest defense Stephen A. Smith said in regards to Ben Roethlisberger is people are talking about Ben like he was trash in 2020. This is what happens when you don't have a running game and force Ben Roethlisberger to throw the ball 50 times a game. Stephen A. told Max Kellerman he needs to be tested because there is something absolutely wrong with him calling Ben Roethlisberger the worst quarterback in the AFC North.
