The Steelers have just four days to prepare for their game against the Washington Football Team on Monday afternoon at Heinz Field. Today, the Steelers had their first practice in preparation for Washington at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side.
Cornerback Steven Nelson did not practice after suffering a knee injury against the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. Mike Tomlin said yesterday in his press conference with the media that Nelson went to get an MRI on his knee. Nelson was able to finish the game against Baltimore and Tomlin said it was something worth looking at.
Also, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger also did not practice, which was classified as a coach/knee on the practice report. Roethlisberger was listed for the same status on Thursday when the practice report was an estimate.
Running back Jaylen Samuels was out for the game against the Ravens with a quadriceps injury but was a full participant in practice today.
