According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Pittsburgh Steelers are in initial talks on a new contract with their longtime tackle Alejandro Villaneuva.
Fowler reported on SportsCenter that they are still far apart on money terms.
According to Spotrac, the market value on a contract for Villanueva is a three-year contract that would pay him 16.5 million per year.
With Villanueva being 32, this shows a market for the veteran tackle. It will be interesting to see if the Steelers will attempt to match the supposed value or move on with decisions pending on other key free agents.
