The Steelers had their first practice today in preparation for the Texans on Sunday and David DeCastro (knee) was a full practice participant. DeCastro has missed the first two games and missed most of training camp. The last time that he practiced was on Aug. 28.
"The schedule for him is to participate this week and let the quality of his participation, the result of that participation kind of be our guide in terms of determining his availability (on Sunday)," Mike Tomlin said about DeCastro at his weekly press conference on Tuesday. "We are at that stage now with him."
Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Heyward, Maurkice Pouncey and Stephon Tuitt did not practice today. All were listed as not injury related. Diontae Johnson (toe), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Tyson Alualu (knee) also did not practice today.
