Steelers Legend Franco Harris would like the Steelers to draft RB Najee Harris in the 2021 NFL Draft
We are now officially less than 1 day away from the 2021 NFL draft. I bet a lot of Yinz are thankful the draft is coming soon because we can only take so many mock drafts before we become sick of them. They will all start to disappear once the Steelers take their first-round draft choice in the 2021 NFL draft. Many mock drafts have the Steelers taking Najee Harris with their No. 24 pick and now one Steeler Legend has thrown his voice behind the Steelers taking Harris with their first-round pick.
In an interview with Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports, Franco Harris said this is a big draft for the Pittsburgh Steelers and he is very excited to be a part of it this year. Harris is expected to announce the Steelers second-round draft pick, but he has his eye on a premier prospect that he would like the Steelers to draft in the first round. Harris says if Najee Harris is available to the Pittsburgh Steelers he would like to see another Harris in the backfield.
Harris on the Steelers Running Game: "We need a running game. I can't tell you how disappointed it was last year, we get to within the 5-yard line going into the end zone and we're throwing all the time. We're not pounding it in there and having running backs do their thing. We need a running back that can really make a difference. This Harris kid is a tough kid. I feel he could really make a difference. Him or Travis Etienne from Clemson."
Franco says a lot of people love to put emphasis on quarterbacks and offensive tackles, but he would like to see the Steelers take a running back because he feels that a running back can make a huge difference in the game of football. Franco is right the Steelers need to get a premier running back and I have been saying it all season that Najee Harris is the perfect fit for the Pittsburgh Steelers. If the Steelers can get through the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets then Najee Harris could become a Pittsburgh Steeler with their 24th pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
