Steelers have placed Maurkice Pouncey on Reserve/Retired list

The Steelers have officially placed Maurkice Pouncey on Reserve/Retired list. This is expected, however, now it is official. Maurkice Pouncey is forever a Steeler. Pittsburgh drafted the center in the first round in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played 11 seasons in the NFL at the highest level and the Steelers will miss him.

It would have been nice to keep him around for another year, however, it makes sense for him to go. His play has rapidly declined. We saw that in the Wild-Card this season with the first play of the game. It just made sense for the two parties to part ways till this point.

I do think Pouncey could end up in Canton, OH. It might take some time, however, there is no doubting his greatness during his prime. He was the anchor on that offensive line for years and a great locker room guy who seemed to get along with everyone.

I wish him the best in his retirement, I just hoped that this retirement could have ended in better circumstances. It would have been nice to see him go out with a Lombardi. However, in this case he went home with nothing. However, he had 9 Pro Bowls, 3 First Team Awards, and much more.
