The Steelers had their first practice of the week today at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side in preparation for the regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Mike Tomlin announced yesterday at his weekly press conference that Ben Roethlisberger won't play on Sunday against the Browns and Mason Rudolph will get the start at quarterback. Tomlin also said they'll potentially look at resting other key starters.
Defensive ends Stephon Tuitt (back) and Tyson Alualu (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, along with strong safety Terrell Edmunds (shoulder).
Kicker Chris Boswell was a full participant today after missing the game against the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday, as he was dealing with a groin injury. Inside linebacker Marcus Allen (stinger) and outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) were also full participants after being out against Indianapolis.
Ben Roethlisberger had his usual Wednesday veteran's day off. Outside linebacker T.J. Watt, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, center Maurkice Pouncey and guard David DeCastro also had the day off.
