The Steelers had their first practice of the week today in preparation for their game against the Browns on Sunday. The Steelers had a significant amount of players that did not practice today, however, Marcus Allen (foot) and Derek Watt (hamstring) were both full participants after missing last week's game against the Eagles, which is a good sign that they'll be good to go for Sunday's game.
David DeCastro (abdomen), Maurkice Pouncey (foot), Diontae Johnson (back), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), Eric Ebron (hand), Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) and Stephon Tuitt (not injury related) did not practice today. T.J. Watt (shoulder) was limited.
"We had a couple of guys who sustained injuries in-game, and their availability for this week will be determined by the quality of their practice and their practice availability specifically," Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday during his weekly press conference. "Those guys are David DeCastro with an abdominal strain, Maurkice Pouncey has a foot injury of some kind that is probably going to limit his practice availability at the beginning of the week, but I don't know that it's going to jeopardize his availability for the game. The same with Diontae Johnson, who took a direct blow to the back."
Offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering a pectoral injury against the Giants in Week 1, returned to practice Wednesday. The Steelers have 21 days to activate Wisniewski to the 53-man roster or he’ll remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
