Steelers are looking to go 2-0 Sunday against the Broncos

Zackary Napolitano

On Tuesday after the Monday Night Game against the Giants Ben Roethlisberger said he felt like a train had hit him. On Wednesday he took the day off and said he felt like he got hit by a car. Thursday he was finally back at practice. Ben said his elbow is feeling good which is great news for Steelers fans. The Steelers have been circulating in the media on a short week in regards to Antwon Rose Jr being placed on their helmets, but that pales in comparison to what the Broncos are going through. Mark Barron has a hamstring injury. Von Miller is out for the season. Bradley Chubb has a knee injury and A.J Bouyee has a dislocated shoulder. The Broncos are unsure if their Runningback Phillip Lyndsay is able to go Sunday against the Steelers and is listed as questionable with a toe injury. Broncos are a mash unit that is decimated with injuries.

The Broncos almost beat the Titans but fell short losing 16-14. Drew Lock completed 22 of 33 passes for 216 yards with a touchdown and zero interceptions on Monday Night against the Titans. Lock has been sacked 5 times in his 6 starts at Quarterback. The Broncos have beaten the Steelers four out of five times they have played from 2012. Steelers only win against the Broncos was on December 20th, 2015. The Steelers just have not been good against the Broncos since 2012.

Cam Heyward brought up the Steelers Ex Offensive Line Coach Mike Munchak and called him the ultimate 'spy.' Drew Lock is hoping his Offensive Line can contain the Steelers Elite Defensive Line on Sunday.

“Hopefully we can prove the point that we have a great O-line while blocking those guys up to give me time back there,” Lock said. "If that’s what we do, then we’re going to be a good football team.”

Steelers Offensive Line is in shambles with Zach Banner tearing his ACL on Monday. David DeCastro and Stefen Wisniewski have yet to practice this week so the younger guys might need to step up on Sunday. Kevin Dotson could be thrown in the mix. Coach Tomlin said the Steelers will miss Zach Banner.

“We will miss him, but we also have confidence that Chuks will do the job,” Roethlisberger said. “It was a close battle I think from what I heard from Coach Tomlin. We will need Chuks to step up who has playing experience. We will expect him to great things.”

The Steelers have had their struggles with the Broncos, but they should be able to start the Season 2-0 if they do not allow the distractions of the week to bother them. It is just too bad fans are not allowed inside Heinz Field this Sunday.
