(FYI These workouts aren't mandatory)
The Steelers had their first day of OTA's yesterday. It's a very exciting time in Pittsburgh. I mean Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Heyward, and many others were finally all on the field together after another long offseason of no football.
I mean, football is back? Well, it is. Except it's in shorts. It's a start, it's the calm before the storm. The Steelers have a lot of work to do if they want to stay on top of their division and possibly getting another shot at a Lombardi on the back of Ben Roethlisberger.
Still, some of the notable absences from day one would be most or all of the wide receivers that were on the roster last year. I did not see JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, James Washington, Diontae Johnson, and Ray-Ray McCloud.
This was all according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor's Tweet where she showed the wide receivers that were in attendance and I did not see any of the players that were mentioned above. This isn't a problem, these aren't mandatory workouts.
Still, I hope we see the guys all together soon! If not, I'm sure all these guys are working hard by themselves away from the facility. I am just ready to see the whole gang back together. Which we might end up seeing that in training camp.
