Should the Steelers look into Chris Carson?

Should the Steelers bite? Possibly. He's rushed for a total of 3,270 yards since being drafted by the Seahawks in the 7th round in 2017. He has fully exceeded his expectations. So, why not give him a shot in Pittsburgh?

His production dipped in 2020. He still averaged almost 5 yards a carry though with a total of 681 yards on the ground and 287 yards receiving. He's that dual threat back that the Steelers could possibly use to make themselves multidimensional.

He is 26 years old which is the ideal age for a running back in the NFL. So, why not give this guy a call and see what his asking price his. It still might be too high for Pittsburgh and if so, that's okay. We still get look at the draft and add to our running back position.

His market value currently stands at 7.4M per season according to spotrac. They have him signing a 4 year 29,608,856 contract. That is still too much for the Steelers in my opinion. If the Steelers could get him for a significantly cheaper deal it might be worth it. Still, I don't think this signing will happen unless the Steelers lose out on a couple key Free Agents on the early days of Free Agency.
