Should the Steelers look into Aaron Jones?

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

After not getting JJ Watt the Steelers could possibly be linked to Aaron Jones. I think Aaron Jones is a really good back. Just not worth the high asking price. He is also currently 26 years which is good. However, toward the end of the contract, he will be up there in age.

According to Spotrac, Aaron Jones has a calculated market value of $14.6 million. They have him signing a 4 year contract with a total value of around $58 million. This is more money than the Steelers would likely be able to afford. I assume Aaron Jones definitely would want this value and not accept any wiggle room.

Aaron Jones has a small chance to return to Green Bay, However, the Packers, much like the Steelers are experiencing some Salary Cap issues. So, it's likely he will depart in Free-Agency.

I would predict him to go to a team with a younger QB. I could really see him going to the Dolphins to help out the Offense and possibly take them to the next level in that AFC East Division which is now run by the Bills but the Dolphins aren't that far off.
