The Steelers are staring at the end of Ben Roethlisberger's career. It's sad, but all good things must come to an end. It's time to look toward the future. Depending on how well the Steelers play this season, and where they end up in the 2022 NFL Draft. I would think the Steelers would consider drafting a QB in the First Round.
For instance, if they have a horrendous season, if they end up finishing below .500, I would look for the Steelers to find the next guy early. Mason Rudolph so far, hasn't shown himself to be the answer. Could that change? Maybe.
Dwayne Haskins, the former 15th Pick in the First Round might end up proving himself to be the answer for the Steelers. Still, if the Steelers, I would try to find another quarterback candidate earlier in the first round.
Personally, I would like a Rookie Quarterback who is on his Rookie deal. Plus, the fifth-year option that the first round pick offers will be quite nice. The Steelers are staring down a reload period after the retirement.
I wouldn't rule out the Steelers looking to get a proven vet after this season if it ends in tears. The Steelers will have the cap space to do just that. I don't feel like the Steelers would like to do a full fledged rebuild. Especially with all the young players on the roster.
