The foundation is named, "Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation" and it's the next chapter in Ryan Shazier Story.
Not long after announcing his retirement, Ryan Shazier has started a Non-Profit. He announced this news via Twitter saying this in his Tweet, “I’m truly excited to announce the Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation. My team and I have been working behind the scenes to find ways to continue to push forward progress for the spinal cord community. One step at a time we will change how people view spinal injuries.”
Years after suffering a spinal injury himself, he is starting a new organization to make his mark on the world post-career. The organization is run by Ryan Shazier and Caroline Boyce, who has 30 years of experience in nonprofit organizations in executive roles. So, it is safe to say Ryan’s new organization is in good hands.
In addition to Shazier and Boyce, the other people on the Board of Directors include, Will Allen, Cindy Citrone, Daryl Crone, David Morehouse, David Okonkwo, Joshua Pollard, Art Rooney II, Veron J. Shazier and Mike Tomlin himself!
This organization is filled with athletes and doctors alike so it’s safe to say it’s in good hands for the foreseeable future.
