Ben Roethlisberger spoke with the media after today's OTAs practice and revealed why he decided to come back for another year. It was the first time that Roethlisberger spoke with the media all offseason.
"I'm black and gold through and through. I didn't want to go anywhere else," Roethlisberger said via Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports. ... "That's why I told them I'd take a pay cut to help this team. This is home. I'm honored to have my career be here."
Roethlisberger also said that it was his idea to take a $5 million pay cut because he wanted to help out the team with their cap issues. The move saved the team more than $15 million in salary-cap space in 2021.
