Ben Roethlisberger will host the offensive rookies for dinner tomorrow night

The Steelers held their first rookie minicamp practice today and second-round pick tight end Pat Freiermuth revealed to the media that Ben Roethlisberger will be taking the rookies out to dinner tomorrow night.

The media only mentioned three of the offensive rookies in Freiermuth, Kendrick Green and Najee Harris, but the Big Ben page on Facebook said all four offensive guys, including Dan Moore Jr., will be going to Roethlisberger's house for dinner tomorrow night.

Freiermuth also told the media that his locker is right next to Roethlisberger's, so the two should build a solid relationship as the season progresses.

“It’s pretty cool, seeing him play when I was a young kid,” Freiermuth said. “Now my locker is next to him. It’s pretty cool.”

Roethlisberger hosting his rookie offensive teammates for dinner also disputes the narrative that he's "not a good teammate" or "doesn't talk to rookies." Harris will definitely be the Steelers' starting running back in 2021, but Green could be the starting center and Freiermuth could see significant playing time as the No. 2 tight end. Moore should be the No. 3 offensive tackle, as well. So it's good to see that the franchise quarterback is getting to know them right away.
