A lot of fans worried the Steelers-Titans game that was originally scheduled for Sunday in Nashville at 1 p.m. wouldn't be televised nationally in its new time slot with the NFL pushing the game back to either Monday or Tuesday due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Titans organization. However, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that the rescheduled Steelers-Titans game is expected to be on national TV on CBS. It will be either on Monday at 5 p.m. or Tuesday at 6 or 7 p.m.
Marchand says he believes the NFL's preference is Monday, but all the COVID protocols must be met. Marchand followed by saying the NFL preference is Monday for competitive balance. For CBS, a 7 p.m. start would be better as it wouldn't impact its news programs and it would be a later standalone broadcast window.
If the game is on Monday with a 5 p.m. kickoff that would avoid some conflicts, as ESPN has the Monday night game between the Packers and Falcons with an 8:15 p.m. start time. With the Steelers and Titans both unbeaten at 3-0, plus the Steelers national fan base, the game should draw great ratings for CBS no matter when the game kickoffs.
