Have you ever seen the scene in the office where all three characters are standing around holding gun signs up to each other only to lower them and then put them back up on each other? It sounds exactly like what is being reported by Aditi of the NFL Network. She says the Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger are essentially turning their negotiations into a really big game of chicken in Pittsburgh where the Steelers are almost daring Ben to say something back. Ben has already said he wants to stay. So not sure what else Ben Roethlisberger needs to say to the organization other than I retire or I return?
Aditi also says the Steelers do not have a consensus on what they should do about Ben yet. She has been told there is a very very strong feeling in that building that it is time to simply move forward. While the Steelers still have Ben Roethlisberger, there is a bit of limbo. It sounds like the Steelers organization is at odds on what to do with Ben Roethlisberger. They have the option to trade up and get a franchise QB in the NFL draft or trade for one in the offseason. That can only happen when they decide what they should do with Ben first. They better figure it out because March 17th is coming fast. That is when teams can wheel and deal. Steelers could look at a Sam Darnold, Deshaun Watson, QB in the draft among others. They have plenty of options once they finally figure out Ben.
