When the Pittsburgh Steelers draft new players each year it is very interesting to hear their full story once they arrive in Pittsburgh. Justin Layne used to be a Cleveland Browns fan and from time to time the Steelers draft players who like rival AFC North teams before coming into Pittsburgh. The Steelers have selected Quincy Roche in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft. His whole family were Baltimore Ravens fans, but things changed when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The first thing Quincy Roche did when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers was to get rid of everything purple he had. Then he decided to buy a whole box of Terrible Towels and hand-deliver them to each family member. Even though Roche is a Ravens fan his loyalty changed the moment he received the call from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL draft. Now all Roche wants to see is the Black and Gold colors going forward.
Roche is no longer a Ravens fan: "We're not going to be Ravens fans anymore," said Roche. "They can watch them when I am not there. But I am pretty sure they are all Steelers fans now."
When Roche was drafted by the Steelers he said it was a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders no matter what team drafted him. It was a dream come true and a great feeling especially having to wait until Day 3 to get drafted. It was a long three days for Roche, but once he was drafted it was a blessing.
Roche is ready to get to work in Pittsburgh and should have his number called on during the 2021 season because the Steelers only have Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt starting on opposite sides of the field. They will need some rest. So I would expect Roche to see the field quite a bit in 2021.
