The market opened up yesterday for many of Steeler's free agents going into 2021. It looks like most of their free agents are going to get PAID in the offseason too. The Steelers wanted to keep Bud Dupree in the offseason, but they knew he was a long shot to stay in Pittsburgh. They communicated with him and even made sure he got the right rehabilitation from his ACL tear. The Steelers said Bud Dupree has had a remarkable rehabilitation and it has shown. Unfortunately, he won't be back with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021.
Bud Dupree is signing with the Titans on a massive contract for five-years, $85 million dollars. $35 million of Dupree's contract is guaranteed. Take the bag and run Dupree!!
Pro Football Focus named Bud Dupree the worst free-agent signing in 2021 so far. PFF has been very low on Bud Dupree over the years although he did earn his highest grade in 2019 (77.7). He has failed to top an overall grade of 62.6 overall in his six-year career. The two things you don't have to worry about are Dupree's motor and athleticism, but Dupree has not shown the ability to win one-on-one pass-rushing situations.
Dupree has helped bring attention away from TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt. He's also had guys around him that make him better that he won't see with the Titans. The Titans have decided Bud Dupree is worth paying the second-highest edge-rushing contract in the NFL to him, but in hindsight, Pro Football Focus says Dupree's deal looks just as bad as Clowney's and Beasley's do this offseason.
