Pro Football Focus says the Steelers will select WR Kadarius Toney in the First Round

The Pittsburgh Steelers might be in the market to look for a new wide-receiver in the 2021 NFL draft. Although their biggest needs are at the offensive line and running back position they could also find a gem at wide-receiver to help replace JuJu Smith-Schuster if he decides to walk during free agency.

Pro Football Focus recently released their latest mock draft and it was a surprising pick for the Steelers. Although Toney is capable of being a stud with the Pittsburgh Steelers it would be shocking to see them take a wide receiver in the first round of the 2021 draft. I can see them taking a running back or offensive lineman in the first round, but the Steelers are unpredictable in what they do during the draft. So anything is possible.

Toney can score from anywhere on the football field. PFF says Ben Roethlisberger is getting the ball out quicker than any quarterback since 2006, a player of Toney's caliber would bode well for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense. Kadarius lived mostly in the short and intermediate middle of the football field during his time with the Florida Gators. He is raw with his route running, but he hauled in seven of his nine deep targets in 2020.

PFF says pairing Toney with Dionate Johnson's route-running brilliance and Chase Claypool's physicality could help make the most of whatever Big Ben has left in the tank or pave the way for the next Steelers quarterback to come out firing.
