Najee Harris says Mike Tomlin is an easy coach to play for because he is such a 'likable person'

Mike Tomlin is heading into his 15th season as the Steelers head coach and last month he received a three-year contract extension through at least the 2024 season. He's one of the most successful coaches in the NFL with 145 regular-season wins, which are tied for 21st overall in NFL history and are third-most among active NFL head coaches.

Tomlin joined Marty Schottenheimer this past season as the only two head coaches in NFL history to have 14 consecutive non-losing seasons to begin their NFL careers. Tomlin is also the winningest minority head coach in NFL history.

Along with being one of the best coaches in the league, he's also known to be a coach who players love to play for, as he has tremendous communication skills and is as real as they come.

Players always know where they stand when they're playing for Tomlin. He doesn't sugarcoat things and will tell you exactly what you need to know, whether it's positive or negative.

Steelers' first-round pick Najee Harris has already realized that Tomlin is an easy coach to play for with how he communicates with the players.

"One thing I have taken away from him so far is he is a people person," Harris said of Tomlin. "He takes time out of his day to get to know the players that he has drafted and who he has. He looks for the best. He really cares for the players. You can tell by the way he comes into the locker room and chops it up with people. He is a ball of energy. A lot of people feed off of that. He is somebody that it's easy to want to play for because he is such a likable person."
