Mike Tomlin on Penn State's Pro Day: "This is a Freak Show out here"

Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert both attended Penn State's Pro Day yesterday. This was to be expected. The Steelers love watching Penn State prospects just as much as Maryland ones. I wrote yesterday on Twitter that Tomlin must have had a field day watching the amount of athletes Penn State has. They are loaded with prospects and Tomlin in fact did have a field. Tomlin said it was a 'freak show' watching Penn State's Pro Day.

The Steelers had their eyes on TE Pat Friermuth, DE Jayson Oweh, LB Micah Parsons, and others. All 3 players the Steelers met with yesterday. Friermuth specifically said the Steelers have met with him multiple times and he would love to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is unlikely to see LB Micah Parsons fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they still did their due diligence with him. Tomlin probably told him he would have to have a losing season in order to get Parsons. I'm joking, but he did say that to Chase Young during the season when the Steelers played the Washington Football team.

DE Jayson Oweh ran a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash yesterday. He weighs 257 pounds. That is pretty absurd to do. Micah Parsons also ran a 4.41 in the 40-yard dash yesterday too. Out of all the prospects in Penn State, it looks likely TE Pat Friermuth could land with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have met with him multiple times and continue to still meet with him. If Friermuth slips into the second or third round that would be a blessing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and I would quickly draft him if he is still there. Mike Tomlin was right it was a freak show, but it was very fun to watch. Let's hope one of the Penn State prospects can land with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL draft.
