Matt Williamson says it would be a 'Pipe Dream' if CB Jaycee Horn falls to the Pittsburgh Steelers
One of the biggest prospects at the cornerback position heading into the 2021 NFL draft is South Carolina's, Jaycee Horn. There is no doubt that this kid is going to become a star in the NFL. He is a shutdown cornerback who has locked up big prospects like Jaylen Waddle, Jerry Jeudy, Kyle Pitts, and Elijah Moore. To put it in perspective Horn only allowed Florida's Kyle Pitts 1 catch for 20 yards in the entire game he played him. He shut him completely down. The question is will CB Jaycee Horn fall to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round?
Matt Williamson recently sat down with Tim Benz and discussed if Horn could in fact fall to them in the first round. Williamson says it would be a 'pipe dream' if Horn falls to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL draft. He thinks CB Greg Newsome or CB Caleb Farley could be there before Horn for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Williamson on Horn's Pro Day: “He had a phenomenal pro day,” Williamson said. “He has prototypical traits. Man coverage guy. He’s one of the few corners in this draft who would follow No. 1 receivers week after week.”
He is not lying about Horn's Pro Day numbers. Those numbers even caught the eye of Joe Haden during the offseason as Haden said Horn is a 'baller.' I believe Jaycee Horn will be one of the best cornerbacks to come out of the 2021 NFL draft. He is an extremely gifted cornerback who is athletic with outstanding size on the football field.
Horn is very feisty when he plays against his opponents and is capable of playing any number 1 wide receiver on the football field. He has shown that time and time again when guarding the top prospects in College Football. If Horn falls to the Pittsburgh Steelers that should intrigue them, but the Steelers need more help on the offensive line and running back positions. There is no doubt Kevin Colbert would think about drafting Horn if he were to fall to them though.
