Kevin Colbert says it is 'very doubtful' the Steelers will trade up in the 2021 NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going into the home stretch of the 2021 NFL draft. With that being said there has been much speculation if the Steelers are going to trade up and draft their quarterback of the future. It looks like Kevin Colbert put that speculation to bed unless they do not want to tip their hand going into the draft. Colbert will walk into the draft with many key positions to fill and that is why he said today he doesn't think the Steelers are going to trade up.

During his Pre-Draft Press Conference today Colbert said it is very doubtful that the Steelers will trade up with having just eight draft picks. That statement makes sense because the Steelers need as much draft capital as they can to help offset their key losses going into the 2021 NFL draft. Kevin Colbert also said that the Steelers are 'wide open' heading into the draft.

The Steelers feel every draft pick is going to count going into the draft. They also feel the draft is very deep in regards to offensive linemen, wide receiver, running back, and linebacker positions. So pretty much Colbert is not going to tip his hand during his pre-draft press conference. Colbert did say the Steelers saw at least one game in person at every school except for six where there were prospects. The Steelers could very well keep the same formula and draft the best available player with their number 24 pick, but I think this season they need a premier running back or offensive lineman before a wide receiver or linebacker.
