Ian Rapoport says the Steelers have a 10 percent chance at signing JuJu Smith-Schuster

Many Steeler fans are wondering what is going to happen with JuJu Smith-Schuster in the coming days... Most of us knew the Steelers will have a difficult time keeping their starters going into the 2021 season because of their cap situation. So this is not surprising news if JuJu Smith-Schuster ends up walking in free agency. The interesting news was when Ian Rapoport said yesterday the Steelers would like to keep JuJu and are working on it, but the issue is the cap.

It sounds like the Steelers are going to do their due diligence in trying to keep JuJu Smith-Schuster, but the hang-up is money. That is understandable and I feel JuJu should hit the open market to try and get the most money he can.

Today on the Pat McAfee show Rapoport was on. Ian was asked to clarify how big of a shot the Steeler's chances are at signing JuJu. Rapoport said there is like a 10 percent chance of it happening. He said the Steelers can do it, but they will have to go through some cap gymnastics to get it done. The Steelers are currently trying to keep him and they're talking to him right now, but it just doesn't feel like the team will be able to sign him. Toward the end of the segment, Ian said that he feels JuJu could take a one-year deal for $10 million and then the following year take $16 million a year. That is a very likely scenario according to Rapoport.
