The Steelers were supposed to play the Baltimore Ravens tonight, but due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the Ravens' organization, the game has been postponed to Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
Yesterday it was reported by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network that the Ravens disciplined a strength and conditioning coach for not reporting symptoms and not consistently wearing a mask or tracking device, which may have contributed to the team's rash of COVID-19 cases.
Later in the day, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported that the staff member currently suspended by the Ravens is head strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders.
So, it appears this outbreak all could have been avoided if a meathead Ravens' strength and conditioning coach would just follow simple COVID-19 protocols. I know everyone was looking forward to watching the Steelers take on the Ravens tonight and enjoy some entertainment on this special holiday, but such is life in 2020.
It's been a rough and challenging year for everyone with the COVID-19 pandemic. And we hope here at the Renegade Blitz that we can help in some little way to take people's minds off of everything that's going on in the world by writing and talking about something we all love, and that's the Pittsburgh Steelers.
So, on this holiday of giving thanks, the Renegade Blitz is thankful for Steelers Nation and all the people who continue to support the website and podcast. It truly means a lot and we can't thank you enough.
I along with Zackary Napolitano, the founder of the Renegade Blitz, are also thankful for all the people who have helped contribute to the website since it's beginning in September. Guthrie Rasmussen and Ty Polk have been instrumental to the site's success since the start. Guthrie led the efforts for the site's layout and design, plus all behind the scenes stuff that it takes to run a website. Ty has been incredible with everything that he's done with the podcast and the platform continues to grow. Prior to starting a podcast, our goal was to have a beat writer, team reporter, radio personality, or blogger from the opposing team every week to preview a Steelers game. So far, we've been able to reach that goal.
We would also like to thank all of our contributing writers -- Jimmy Spizzirri, Max Rosenfeld and Luke Sawhook. Jimmy does the game recaps and has written about a myriad of other topics regarding the Steelers. Max does a weekly film analysis article on the opposing team and gives his five keys for a Steelers' victory. Luke joined the website a few weeks ago and does a weekly fantasy football article from a Steelers perspective. We appreciate all the hard work they've done for the website, and look forward to continuing to work with them.
From the Renegade Blitz, Happy Thanksgiving!
