There is no doubt the Steelers will be limping into the 2021 NFL draft with many needs. Many positions are very thin and the Steelers really need to start fixing their offense rather than their defense. There is no question the Steelers need help with their inside linebacker and outside linebacker position, but their offense was atrocious in 2020. They need all the help they can get on the offensive side of the ball going into 2021.
Dulac recently wrote an article about the Steeler looking for help at the linebacker position heading into the 2021 NFL draft. He acknowledged the Steelers will need help with the linebacker position, but although some mock drafts have shown the Steelers taking LB Zaven Collins in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft Gerry Dulac feels the Steelers will focus their 24th pick on offense by selecting either an offensive lineman or running back.
Although it would be amazing to place LB Zaven Collins next to Devin Bush the Steelers have bigger needs on the offensive side of the ball. It would be smart for the Steelers to bolster their offensive line or running back position in the first round with an elite prospect.
The defense seems to be in a much better position going forward than the offense is, but there is definitely needs at the inside linebacker, outside linebacker, and cornerback position. This is why it was kind of a head-scratcher why the Steelers have decided to cut Steven Nelson before going into the 2021 NFL draft. Regardless I agree with Gerry Dulac the Steelers need to take a running back or offensive lineman in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft.
