If you have watched how the Pittsburgh Steelers organization operates during the offseason for many years you would know that their free agency doesn't end until they actually take the football field. The Steelers did bring in Safety Karl Joseph, but it looks like they could not come to terms on a deal so he has decided to resign with the Raiders. This is how the Steelers continue to operate especially after the NFL draft.
It is Kevin Colbert in the dumpster looking for small bargains with good players sitting on the market for a long time. It is almost like Colbert is holding a contract in his hand saying you better sign it or you will continue to sit on the market for a very long time. There is nothing personal with doing business like how the Steelers do business because at the end of the day either sign the contract or sit out.
With that being said do not expect the Steelers to stop looking for bargain players throughout the entire offseason. There are still plenty of good-quality players sitting on the open market this offseason. You could sign them to a one-year deal too due to the market crumbling because of Covid-19.
The Steelers should take a flier on a few good players on a one-year deal before the season starts because it would benefit both sides heading into the 2021 season. It gives the Steelers a quality player to contribute and it allows the player to show his true market value heading into the 2022 season.
