Finally, the Steelers offensive line may be getting the help they desperately needed. David DeCastro was back at practice today with the Steelers. This is his first practice with the Steelers since Training Camp. Mike Tomlin said this week they will continue to evaluate DeCastro throughout the week to determine his eligibility for Sunday against the Texans. The offensive lineman had a knee brace on his left knee that was noticeable during practice. He was considered a full participant which is good news he could get through the entire practice. DeCastro hasn't missed more than two games with the Steelers since 2013 due to an injury. JuJu was happy to see David DeCastro back out of the field today.
“He’s an awesome guy to be around not just on the field but off the field, too, so having him back is huge for us because Dave is a pro,” receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster said. “He’s a vet. This is what he does, and he’s been doing it for a very long time.”
Let's just hope good news continues with David DeCastro because we will need him against the Texans. Especially with JJ Watt coming from all angles on the Steelers offensive line. We will continue to give you updates throughout the week on his status. Hopefully he can go on Sunday against the Texans.
