CBS Sports says JuJu Smith-Schuster is the Sixth Best Wide Receiver available in Free Agency

It seems like the Pittsburgh Steelers could let JuJu Smith-Schuster test free agency on March 17th. Although JuJu has said he wants to stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In all likelihood, ESPN says there is not much tug-of-war going on between the Pittsburgh Steelers and JuJu Smith-Schuster. That doesn't sound like good news for some Steeler fans who want to see Smith-Schuster come back to Pittsburgh in 2021.

JuJu on staying in Pittsburgh: "I would love to stay in Pittsburgh," Smith-Schuster said after the season-ending loss to the Browns. "I built a strong foundation and a strong fan base. I love Coach Mike Tomlin and Coach Ike Hilliard, everybody I've been around. They've helped change the way I am, I love the game of football and I would love to do it again."

Smith-Schuster has been very vocal about wanting a new contract. He even took to Instagram saying 'let's talk,' to the Pittsburgh Steelers when Ben Roethlisberger's new contract was announced. I've enjoyed watching JuJu play in Pittsburgh and I wish he would stay, but the Steelers are realizing they won't be able to compete with the market once March 17th comes. So it looks like they will let him test the market to see what his worth really is. Barring any last-minute talks, the Steelers may have with JuJu.

CBS Sports Pete Prisco recently released who he thinks is the top wide receiver in the NFL going into the 2021 free agency period. CBS feels Chris Godwin is the best free-agent wide receiver heading into 2021. He will likely be back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021 as well. Allen Robinson, Kenny Golladay, and Corey Davis were named before JuJu Smith-Schuster.

JuJu Smith-Schuster was named the 6th best available wide receiver coming into March 17th free agency according to CBS Sports. JuJu has been very consistent for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but in all fairness has not put up WR1 numbers. I do believe JuJu will get paid in the 2021 offseason what he feels he is worth, but the Steelers should not overpay him to stay in Pittsburgh. If JuJu leaves in free agency look for the Steelers to use Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and James Washington. They could also add another receiver in the 2021 NFL draft.
