Unfortunately, James Conner went down with a left ankle injury in the second quarter tonight. He has been plagued with injuries throughout his career. Benny Snell was called upon and boy did he make most of his opportunity in Prime Time! Benny Snell carried the ball 19 times for 113 yards making it his first 100-yard rushing game in his Professional Career on Monday Night Football. The Steelers ended up winning the game 26-16 against the Giants.
Tomlin had high praise for Benny Snell after the game: “I wasn’t surprised by what he was able to do,” Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin said afterward. “He was ready to answer the bell when called upon.”
Benny Snell Football showed up tonight with key plays in the game on a block that helped Ben Roethlisberger with a TD Pass and a 30-yard run that helped the Steelers gain another scoring drive. Although he fumbled the ball earlier, JuJu saved him by jumping on it.
Snell came up short during his Rookie year against the Bengals when he rushed for 98 yards on 21 carries and 91 yards and a Touchdown against the Ravens in the Steelers 2019 Season Finale.
Finally, Benny Snell Football showed up and reached over 100 yards rushing. Time and time again when Benny Snell's number is called, he proves that he can be a Number 1 Running Back in the NFL. If Conner misses time Benny Snell Football can fill in perfectly which could cause James Conner some touches down the road.
