An AFC North divisional rival is reportedly in the mix for Mike Hilton, according to Mike Garafolo. The Bengals need a slot cornerback and they have the cap space to pursue Hilton.
According to Overthecap.com, the Bengals have around $40 million in cap space and Spotrac has Hilton's market value at $7.8 million per year. So the Bengals can definitely pay Hilton a hefty contract.
Hilton's agent is Drew Rosenhaus, so it wouldn't be surprising if Hilton got more than $7.8 million per year annually.
The Steelers are re-signing Cam Sutton to a two-year, $9 million deal, and coming into today they had around $5 million in salary-cap space, so it's hard to imagine the Steelers being able to retain Hilton. And if the Bengals offer the most money, don't be surprised if Hilton lands in Cincinnati.
