There have been a few debates among the national media on who the worst quarterback is in the AFC North going into 2021. Max Kellerman of ESPN feels Ben Roethlisberger is the worst quarterback in the AFC North going into the new season. Nick Wright with Fox Sports has said the Steelers can't win a Super Bowl with a 'damn 40-year-old quarterback.' While many football experts say the Pittsburgh Steelers will regret bringing Ben back by November of 2021.
At the end of the day, the Steelers put themselves in this position and had no choice but to bring back Ben Roethlisberger in 2021. He gives them the best chance to win with a revamped offensive line and running game.
Look at the statistics for the 2020 season and you will see Ben Roethlisberger has put up the best passing numbers, completion numbers, most attempts, and touchdowns in the AFC North. The only two quarterbacks who have a better QBR are Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. That is the only category the AFC North quarterbacks have beaten Ben Roethlisberger in 2020. You can't debate the numbers.

Lamar Jackson: 242 completions, 376 attempts, 2,757 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, QBR 73.7, Completion Percentage 64.4%.
Joe Burrow: 264 completions, 404 attempts, 2,688 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, QBR 56.2%, Completion Percentage 65.3%.
Those echoing the words Ben Roethlisberger is washed are just saying it to cause an uproar or are just plain out ignorant and their hate is showing in regards to Ben Roethlisberger. At 38 years old he played better than 20-year-old quarterbacks who are much younger than Ben in the AFC North. They also had a running game as well. So before all these loudmouths like Colin Cowherd, Nick Wright, and Max Kellerman start disrespecting the Two-Time Super Bowl Winning Quarterback in Pittsburgh they need to start looking at the numbers before they open their mouths. The statistics say Ben Roethlisberger was the best quarterback in the AFC North in 2020.
